Manatee County Sheriff's OfficeOn July 31, 2013, Deputy Thomas Peel was on duty working as a Manatee County Sheriff's Office patrol deputy for Squad 1 East. During the course of his shift Deputy Peel drove his marked agency patrol vehicle to a prearranged meeting with an individual for the purpose of purchasing an illegal controlled substance. Unbeknownst to Deputy Peel, the individual selling him the controlled substance was a Confidential Informant (CI) and assisting in a narcotics "reverse" operation. In a controlled hand-to-hand deal with the CI, Deputy Peel purchased six (6) vials of testosterone propionate along with 150 tablets of Nolvadex and 200 tablets of Tbol for $325.00.
Upon careful review of written documentation contained within this investigation, and a review of the General Orders, Policies and Procedures of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, I submit an IMPROPER CONDUCT (SUSTAINED) finding to the allegation of Conduct Unbecoming.
